This year we will have many opportunities to gather together during the week leading up to Easter.
Palm Sunday – April 14
On Sunday, April 14, we will celebrate Jesus’s triumphal into Jerusalem with the waving of palms during our regular 10:30am worship service.
Maundy Thursday – April 18
On Maundy Thursday, April 18, at 6:00pm, a worship service will be held in Fellowship Hall with a light soup dinner at the beginning of the service followed by worship with Holy Communion in remembrance of the Last Supper. This is a great service for all ages. There will be engaging materials for younger children, too.
Good Friday – April 19
On Good Friday, April 19, there will be two opportunities to worship. Beginning at 3:00PM and running through roughly 6:00PM, our friends at Cherryville Baptist Church will be hosting their annual Seven Last Words Service. You are welcome to come at any time; Pastor Ben is preaching the Second Word (“Today you will be with me in Paradise”) right around 3:30PM.
We will also hold a service of Tenebrae in our Fellowship Hall at 7:00PM.
Easter Morning – April 21
There will be a brief service Easter Morning at 7:00AM in the Memorial Garden. Afterward we will be serving a hearty brunch in the Fellowship Hall.
At 10:30 AM on Easter morning we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ during our regular worship service. Both the lyric and bell choirs will share special music with us.
At 1:15 PM, Pastor Ben will be leading a special Easter worship service at Independence Manor.
